It was Spring Break 2007 when Robyn decided to shoot her shot! Wait, rewind, press play. Did you say Robyn shot HER shot?! Yes, you read that correctly. She was new to Texas Southern University. Eager to make new friends and become engrained with the culture at TSU, Robyn quickly began attending campus activities. One day during a University Programs Council meeting in walked Jeremy. He was a natural leader and had an easy going nature. Even from afar Robyn could see his kindness and likeability. She asked around, got some pretty basic information about him. Now, seeing him in the Galleria mall with his friends she figured it was the perfect opportunity to try and get to know him for herself.

Jeremy remembers that fateful Spring day. He never thought a walk through the mall with his boys would end with him meeting a girl that "took my breath away." Who is she and how does she know me and my name? Although forward, she was beautiful with a bubbly personality. The two exchanged numbers and decided on their first date. Robyn picked Jeremy up in her red Suzuki and they were off! After a few dates, the two settled on friendship. Jeremy was very busy with school, work, and raising his son. Robyn was so new to the city and wanted to explore and be free. Their friendship was always sincere and supportive with the underlying question of "what if?"

Fast forward to 2021 and the world looked very different than in 2007. Robyn and Jeremy would check in from time to time over the years and would see each other at Homecoming and catch up. Robyn, now a Mom of 2 rambunctious kids and setting out in her career was in an unfamiliar place in her life. The plans she made for her future were altered and surrounding herself with friends was more important than ever. Jeremy, now raising a teenager and likewise in a transitional period was open to love and a future with the right one. God saw fit for their paths to cross at the perfect time. Dinner at Pistoleros on a Tuesday night in June led to hours of talking on the phone and getting to know the grown up version of one another. Each conversation led to discovery of similar morals and values, quirks, vulnerabilities, and life goals. Robyn's kids fell in love with "Mr. J" and have their own special relationship with him. From football coach to science partner, Mr. J can do it all! Jeremy's son and "Ms. Robyn" have grown closer over the years and their bond continues to grow. Robyn and Jeremy's friendship quickly budded into romance, adoration, and true love. Now, nearly 20 years later, a chance encounter at the mall will be celebrated and cemented into a lifelong covenant.
